The different meanings of “apropos”

I know one meaning of “apropos”. That when something relates to something else. But what does it mean in this sentence: “Luhrmann’s frenetic style à la Moulin Rouge is particularly apropos given what we know about Fitzgerald’s life.”

I don't think I've ever heard of that word, hopefully, somebody else will know.

Never heard of that word either. To be honest it looks like a typo. Appropriate seems fitting?

Edit: it means, "very appropriate to a particular situation".

suitable, suitably, pertinent (an apropos remark)
